Kaptain Carbon There is something about presentation which makes things more enjoyable. Arcane Cavern, aside from having a cool name, has presentation locked down solid. The obvious low fi angle for this project helps the simple melodies become a journey into a hazy world of darkness and conquest. Add to this the structure of a short narrative and the charm of bedroom synth becomes much more apparent. This is not music meant for large halls rather small rooms with fantasy paperbacks strewn around.

"A land in turmoil, where an abandoned castle rests in the light of the pregnant moon. Its walls battered and breached, revealing the rotting remains of those that once occupied its halls. Bats fly through the spiralled staircase of the eastern watchtower, their squeaks echoing between the scorched stone walls.

The barbican remains intact, however, it is deserted. There is nothing inside, other than a few cracked bows and a quiver left leaning against the wall. Bloated bodies drift in the moat below, disappearing underneath the charred drawbridge.

Neighbouring villages have been reduced to cinders. Smoke rises slowly from the rubble, shrouding the sky in a thick, black blanket. Rats claw their way through the dead bodies that lay scattered on the field, sniffing and licking the bloodstained armour..." (Chapter 1, pg.1, Sorcery Of Chaos)

Revenant Marquis continues with the subterranean vocals on this album. Percussion sound on all tracks has a very large sound, especially the bass drum. Guitar is generally very clean. The more I listen, the more I get Xasthur vibes, but with a more rock and roll influence. Still very depressive and chaotic. A cool album! QQBeastMode

Here is another beautiful project. Very close to Bašmu by his production and this deranged and stripped spirit, although more black and still dirty. Xülthys keeps his hand and perpetuates black art with Girtablullû. Always so unhealthy and black. Listen imperatively in the dark to fully appreciate this ode to darkness.
